Swing Brasileiro is a Chicago-based music ensemble that plays various styles of Brazilian music, including samba, forro, pagode and axe. The group is comprised of several musicians who come from different regions of Brazil with expansive knowledge of traditional instruments such as pandeiro, cuica, cavaquinho, and zabumba. Swing Brasileiro has performed at Old Town School of Folk Music, Mayne Stage, Martyrs’, and has been featured at SummerDance and Viva! Chicago Latin Music Festival. Marcos Oliveira is the founder of Swing Brasileiro, and he has lived and worked in Chicago as a musician for more than two decades.
